Each 'half piece' provides around 68.5cm of space, furthermore, thanks to the unique half size receiver on one side an additional shelf can be attached to the same block, this gives you a total space of 137cm per layer with jsut 2 half shelves and 3 blocks. Muliple layers can be added together.
